Voice-note guestbook

An audio guestbook on your guests’ own phones

Sparkle’s guestbook lets every guest leave you a written line with a voice note of up to three minutes, or a photo, from their own phone in the Sparkle wedding app. There’s no handset to hire, charge or post back. Only you, your co-hosts and a guestbook helper you name hear the voice notes. Download the whole book to keep.

How it works

How the voice-note guestbook works

  1. Add the guestbook to your wedding

Guests find it beside the photos in your app, ready from the moment they join.

  2. Guests leave a line and a voice note

They write a line for you, then record a voice note of up to three minutes, or add a photo instead.

  3. The voices come to you

Guests can read each other’s lines, but a voice note or photo goes only to the two of you, your co-hosts and a guestbook helper you name. Other guests see only that one was left.

  4. Keep the book

After the day, download the whole book, voices and all: a page to open or print, the photos in place and every voice note ready to play. A big book comes in several zips: unzip them all into one folder.

Honest limits

Good to know before you choose

What it does and what it doesn’t, so there are no surprises on the day.

  • Voice notes are recorded in the app

In their browser, guests can leave a written line. To record a voice note or add a photo, they need the Sparkle wedding app on an iPhone or Android phone.

  • Nothing to pick up at the venue

There’s no handset on a table to remind people, so tell guests it’s there: a line on the invitation, a card on the tables or a word in the speeches.

  • Voice notes need signal

A written line made without signal is saved and sent when it returns. Voice notes and photos need signal or Wi-Fi at the time.

  • An open book

Lines go into the book straight away, with no approval step. You can hide or delete any line afterwards, or show guests just a line saying who signed.

Questions

What couples ask

What is an audio guestbook?

A guestbook of recorded messages, instead of or as well as written ones. Traditionally it’s a telephone handset at the venue. With Sparkle, guests record a voice note on their own phone and it comes straight to you.

How long can a voice note be?

Up to three minutes: long enough for a toast, a story or a verse of your song.

Can other guests hear the voice notes?

No. Other guests can read the written lines, but only the two of you, your co-hosts, a guestbook helper you name and the guest who recorded it can play a voice note.

Can guests sign it without the app?

A guest who can’t install the app can leave a written line from their browser. Voice notes and photos need the Sparkle wedding app, which is the full wedding.

How do we keep the recordings?

Download the whole book from your dashboard, or from the app after the day: a page to open or print, with the photos in place and every voice note ready to play, and a plain-text copy. A big book comes in several zips (up to 250 MB each from the dashboard, 100 MB from the app): unzip them all into one folder.

How much does it cost?

The guestbook is a £39 add-on, paid once per wedding, on the web. Voice notes, photos and the download are included.
