For couples
Couples & hosts
Setting up your wedding, your guest list and replies, and the day itself.
- How do we create our wedding?
Sign in to the Sparkle dashboard on the web with your email and add your names: your guest app is ready, and the date can wait. It’s free to start.
- How do we choose our colours?
Open Look & feel in your dashboard and pick one of eight palettes, each checked so every guest can read it. Add a monogram or cover photo, then save.
- How do I import our guest list from a spreadsheet?
In Guest list, choose Import and paste your rows straight from Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, or choose a CSV file. Check the preview, then add them.
- How do I give each household its own link or QR code?
Every invitation on your guest list has its own link. Copy it, show its QR code, or print a personal card for each invitation from Print cards.
- How do we replace an invite link that’s been shared?
Choose “Replace this link” on its card on your Overview. The old link stops working at once, and everyone who has already joined stays.
- How do I print our invitation and table cards?
Open Print cards, choose the card, who it’s for and its size, then Print. The cards come in your colours, each with its QR code, ready for a home printer.
- How do I record a reply that came by post?
On their invitation in Guest list, open More and choose “Record a reply”. It counts with the rest, and becomes theirs if they join later.
- How do we set a reply-by date?
In Wedding details, add a reply-by date on or before your wedding date. Guests see it until they reply, and a late reply still counts.
- How do we say whether children are invited?
In Wedding details, choose “Children are welcome” or “Adults only”. Guests then mark children as they reply, or can’t add any on an adults-only day.
- How do we invite some guests to the evening only?
Make an evening invite on your Overview and share its link or QR code. Evening guests see only the evening and aren’t asked about the wedding breakfast.
- How do we ask for meal choices?
With the £99 bundle, add a question in RSVP questions, such as the main course, with its choices. Your dashboard counts every answer.
- How do I send our table plan to the venue?
In Seating & check-in, add your tables and seat your guests. Then download a spreadsheet of every seat, or print the table plan, for the venue and caterer.
- How do I set up the photo wall on the day?
Open Photo wall in your dashboard, choose “Enable wall” and open its link on the venue’s screen. Approved photos join its slideshow within a minute.
- How do we approve photos, or turn approval off?
Guests’ photos wait on Photos in your dashboard until you approve them. Or set Photo approval to Off and they go straight into the album.
- How do we make the best man a helper?
On the Team page, add a helper and tick what they look after: photos, the guestbook or song requests. They help from their phone or the dashboard.
- How do we deal with a photo or line we don’t want?
Hide it from guests to keep it for yourselves, or delete it for everyone, for good. Anything a guest reports reaches you on a Reports card.
- How do we tell guests when and where?
In Guest info: the ceremony and reception with directions, places to stay, the dress code and your gift list. Free for every wedding.
- How do we add pages for our guests?
In Pages: start from a template or a blank page, add text, photos and links in the order you want, then publish. Part of the £99 bundle.
- What will our guests see?
Your own app, in your names and colours, with only the features you’ve added. Home changes with the day: the invitation first, then the day, then photos.
- How do we download all the photos and the guestbook?
In your dashboard, Photos has “Download all photos” and Guestbook has “Download the guestbook”. Both are yours to keep, whenever you like.
- How do we delete our wedding?
The wedding’s owner can delete it from Wedding details, in the Danger zone. Everything goes, for everyone, and it can’t be undone.
- How long do you keep our wedding?
Until you delete it, with nothing more to pay. Every two years after the day, we check that you’d still like it kept.
- What’s free, and what do we pay for?
Your guest app is free to start. The premium bundle is £99, and add-ons are £19 to £49 each, paid once per wedding.
- How do we use a partner code?
If your planner, venue or photographer gave you a code, add it when you buy: “Have a partner code?” in Features & billing.
- What is “How did you hear about Sparkle?” for?
It’s an optional question as you set up a wedding, if you’re not yet a guest, helper or host at another. It helps us know which ways of finding couples work.
For guests
Guests
Joining from your invitation, replying, and sharing the day.
- Do I need to download the app?
Yes, for the full experience: get the app before you travel. If you can’t install it, you can still reply and share photos in a browser, in a limited version.
- How do I join a wedding from my invitation?
Scan the QR code on your invitation with your phone’s camera, or open the link the couple sent. Sign in with your email and a code: no password.
- How do I reply for my whole family?
Choose “Joyfully accept”, then say how many are in your party and add each person. One reply covers everyone: the others needn’t sign in.
- How do I share my photos?
Open Photos, choose up to 20 photos, add a caption if you like and share them. Where each was taken is removed before it leaves your phone.
- How do I sign the guestbook?
Open the guestbook beside the photos, add your name and a line for the couple, and sign. In the app, add a voice note or a photo for the couple.
- How do I keep the photos after the wedding?
After the day, you can save the photos you can see from the app: open Photos and save them all to your phone, or download them as zips.
- How do I report or block someone?
Open the “…” on the photo, line or song request. Report it to the couple and Sparkle, or block the person so you no longer see what they share.
- How do I complain to Sparkle, or appeal a decision?
Use our “Report a concern” form: for something illegal or harmful, a decision we made about you, or your data. Anyone can, with or without an account.
- How do I leave a wedding?
Choose “Leave this wedding” under You in the app, or at the foot of the page in a browser. Your reply and seat go; what you shared stays.
- How do I delete my Sparkle account?
Choose “Delete my account” in the app, under You, or in a browser. Your account and everything you added to any wedding go for good.
- What’s the minimum age to use Sparkle?
Guests must be 13 or over. To create a wedding, be a host or planner, or pay, you must be 18 or over. Nobody asks your date of birth.
For planners
Planners
Running several weddings, and handing each one to its couple.
- How do I see all the weddings I’m planning?
Your weddings lists every wedding you host: its date, replies, what it has unlocked and whether it’s handed over. It opens first once you host two.
- How do I hand a wedding over to the couple?
On the Team page, create a handover link and send it to the couple. When they join, make them the owner in one step, and you stay on as a co-host.
- How do I add a co-host?
On the Team page, choose “Invite a co-host” and send them the link. They get a host seat as soon as they join. A wedding has three host seats.
- How do I add my “Planned by” credit?
Save your business name and website in your planner profile. Every wedding you then set up from Sparkle starts with a quiet “Planned by” credit.
