How do I import our guest list from a spreadsheet?

In Guest list, choose Import and paste your rows straight from Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, or choose a CSV file. Check the preview, then add them.

Updated

Step by step

  1. Put one invitation on each row, named as you’d address the envelope: “Ellie & Jack Morgan”.

  2. Add columns for email, places on the invitation, and day or evening if you have them. A header row is optional, in any order.

  3. In your dashboard, open Guest list and choose Import.

  4. Select the rows in your spreadsheet, copy them and paste them into “Your list”. Or choose a CSV file instead.

  5. Check the preview. A row that needs fixing says why and is left out; choose Add for the rows that are ready.

Good to know

  • To save a CSV: in Excel, File › Save As › CSV UTF-8; in Numbers, File › Export To › CSV; in Google Sheets, File › Download › Comma-separated values.

  • A CSV from Excel set up for Europe uses semicolons instead of commas. That’s fine: Sparkle reads tabs, commas and semicolons.

  • For the group, write “day” or “evening”; blank means the whole day. Up to 4 email addresses fit in one cell, with a space between them.

  • A wedding can have up to 500 invitations. Add one by hand with “Add an invitation”.
